A Week and a Half into 2011 and What Have I Accomplished?

Well, let’s see… I have not officially given up the whole soda thing, but I am slowly working on it.  I have gotten to the point that I am drinking a 12 oz can instead of a 20 oz bottle AND I am not drinking it every day!  I have gradually increased my water intake and am sticking with teas.  I just wish I could find a REALLY good Chai tea!  I have tried 4 – count them 4 – different brands of tea in the “dreaded” tea bag (I prefer loose leaf tea) and none of them even come close to my Chai American from a company called Let’s Do Tea (which is no longer, mind you)!  I am so disappointed.  I even ordered from this company, but sadly, it doesn’t compare either.  I am so bummed…

On a brighter note, I have started getting myself “moving” on a regular basis.  Since I am an industrial nurse, I work in a manufacturing plant with around 1 million square feet.  Needless to say, it is rather large and there is plenty of space to get out and go walking!  I walk 2-4 laps nightly!  I have also gotten to the YMCA a couple of times.  This week has been tough with the snow that we recently got.  However, I feel great with the exercise I have managed to get and I plan to “get moving” daily at the YMCA!  I am not paying a membership for nothing!  After I really get to going, I will start working on strength training, but for now, I am just doing cardio conditioning on the treadmill and up-right bicycle.

My iPod workout music is in need of some revamping however… So, itf you have any suggestions for me, I am all about fast-paced “old school”, keep in mind that I am 30-something and mostly a country girl, but I do like some of the “old school” pop/rock.  Just need to add a few more songs to keep the speed up while I am walking/jogging/riding.

Finally, for January, I decided that my project would be coffee cup cozies.  You can see them here.  I am cranking them out faster than I can think of people to give them to.  Depending upon how many I end up with at the end of the month, I may just have to host a GIVE-A-WAY in February.  Would you all like that?  I think it might be kind of fun!  I have never done one and am kind of intimidated by it, but I am the kind of person that is willing to try anything once in a while!  Just need to send a “Shout Out” for a few more followers!  Can all of you help me out with that?

Thinking ahead for February, I need to find a new craft for February…guess I will need to start looking for something new that I have never done before!  Hmmm….

Hope you all have a fantastic day!!!

I love chai latte--I buy the concentrate version (either oregon chai which is sweeter or Tazo brand which is spicier)and *cough, cough* they both taste best with whole milk . . . just saying. ;o) They are both at Wal-mart.

Your cozies are super cute--I don't think I've ever seen any like that. I love the little ruffle!

I too am mourning the loss of Let's Do Tea. 8 Treasures, After 7 and MidSummer's Night...there's just nothing out there that tastes the same!

Make up your cozies and take them to Scooters or Starbucks and see if they would carry them. Or the Nebraska Store.

I was going to suggest talking to Janna about the Chai thing because I know she drinks that stuff...but it looks like she beat me to it. :) We used to buy our tea at Teavana when we lived in MD. You may want to check it out online. Great job on getting moving...it's so critical for a long life and I find when I'm consistently working out, I'm healthier in other ways too! Love you!
