Winter Wonderland Craft Show

We will be found at this craft show in two days.
After the very first show we did a couple months ago, we found that there were some things we needed to do to improve our booth a bit.

For starters, matching table cloths were a must have!
Mom went through her fabric stash and found enough of the same fabric to cover 3 tables and cut it and hemmed the edges that needed to be hemmed.

A better set up...
We found that we didn't have nearly enough space for everything, so we went in search of another long table to make a "U" shaped booth for this time around.

How will people know who we are without a sign?
That was a simple solution, I bought a piece of foamcore posterboard and used a Cricut to cut out our name and then put it together. A super simple design was best for the time being. We will eventually purchase a banner, but since this is just our 3rd show, we didn't want to get too ambitious too quickly.

Those are just a few of the improvements we have made for this time around. We have some a few other things that we want to get done (i.e. doll clothing racks), but they will have to wait until the next show. This time of year is just way to crazy busy with the holidays.

Since the flyer above doesn't have all of the pertinent information, I also wanted to include the "Save the Date" below, since it has the exact address on it. If you are in the Lincoln/Omaha, Nebraska area, we would absolutely LOVE to see you at the show.

New Look

So, what do you think?
Do you like it?

I decided that the blog needed a make-over.
Not that I didn't LOVE the look before, I just wanted something different.
Since I have a boat-load of business cards that I had ordered prior to getting the previous design done, I thought I had better change things up. Now that I am getting a bit more business than I had before, it seemed like a smart choice to get my "brand" uniform.

Now that the blog and Facebook look alike, all I have left to changed up is the shop over on etsy.
I will hopefully have that done this weekend too.

Let me know what you think.
I am so proud of myself, I was able to do it all on my lonesome...
Okay... I had to "google" and "bing" some things, but otherwise I did it myself.

Not bad for an amateur!!!

Thursday Pinterests

I am one of the least organized people I know...
...AT HOME!
At work, I am a completely different person...
...when speaking ORGANIZATION!

I pinned a bunch of great ideas to hopefully, maybe someday get organized at home.

Great ideas by-the-way!

Pinned Image
I *swoon* over this linen closet!
Such organization...NOTHING like mine!

Pinned Image
(put sheet sets inside a matching pillow case)
Every time I fold the sheets, I think about doing this, but it never happens.

I would no longer be searching through my sewing basket, on the sewing table, or *gasp* on the floor for my sewing thread!

Pinned Image
Oh so organized. With a dish drying rack! And I couldn't think of something this simple?!? Sheesh!
I will have to post a photo of my lid cabinet to show you just how rediculously unorganized they are!

Know when to stock up on what!

This Week...Operation de-Clutter

Tumblr_lishe52i7s1qhfc59o1_500_large

OK, maybe not de-clutter, but at least clean things up.
Our son is spending the week with his paternal grandparents out of town, so it's just me and the little one at home during the day this week.
Which actually works out to my advantage, because elementary schools start up on the 16th.
So, I am hoping to get the house into a semi-clean "state of affairs" for back-to-school.

Today I worked on the living and dining rooms...
picked up and vacuumed (still need to dust, but that can be done at a later date - not a fan of dusting).

The big project is going to be getting our daughter's room clean.
The kid changes - I swear to you - no less than a minimum of 3 times a day and sometimes more!
Oh, and that is between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
Yes, we are trying to stop it, but we can't forbid her from playing in her room!

I am also in the process of de-cluttering my "studio."
I have actually sold a number of items that I no longer use on ebay, but I still have a very LONG way to go. Slowly, but surely it will get done.

Anyway, what are your plans for the week?

The "Studio"

Have I mentioned that I LOVE to sew?
Well, once you see my "studio" you will know that I love to sew and that I am pretty darn good at making a huge mess!

I do clean it up once in a while, but what's the point, I know where everything is located when it looks like this.  When I took these pictures, it was actually not nearly as messy as it is today! I just CAN'T be clean when I am in creative mode.

It would be fantastic if I had a special room just for my sewing, but unfortunately that is not the case. Hopefully at some point I can move into our office, but right now that is not a possibility, the hubs would absolutely go insane if I left a mess like this in the office. I'll have to mend my ways a bit first.

Anyway...
Hope you have a fabulous week!
See you back soon!

What Ya Got In That Bag?

Since I am kind of at a loss for a post, I thought I'd try something different.
I have seen a couple of bloggers do this...
Melissa over at Write It In Lipstick is one that comes to mind first.
However, I've seen it a couple of other places too (just don't remember the blog names).

Everyone carries either a little bit or a "lot bit" in their purse, handbag, whatever.
*Yes, I know "lot bit" doesn't make sense.  Just go with it!  K?  Thanks!*

The following is what I carry in my purse.
*Stay tuned, I may do a post with what I carry in my "activity" bag to work later!*

Clockwise:
Coach Purse - score off of eBay
Makeup bag from Africa a gift from the hubs Aunt and Uncle whom live there currently
*it is chock-full of lipstick, lip gloss, and wipes for my glasses*
Mark by Avon compact
Wallet - which is 1000 years old (okay, I may be exaggerating a little on the age)
Keys (house & truck) - I have so many of those "rewards" cards on there it isn't funny!

wow, the lighting in here sucks!

Clockwise (from 12:00 position):
Emery Board - My nails are finally grown out from being destroyed by artificial tips! YAY!!!
Gum - For those days that I absentmindedly forget to brush my teeth before venturing out and about.
Pen (One of the "gifts" from my prior J-O-B)
Fire Balls! (What you don't carry a load of candy in your purse that your kids won't touch?)
2 pocket hand sanitizers - Remember my "dirty little secrets"? I told you I carried 2 of them!
Batteries - Um, not quite sure what these were doing in there...hmmm....

So there you have it!
That's what's in "that bag"!

Operation Organization

I seriously need to do some organization to a number of different rooms in the house that I use quite frequently.

Just look at the mess in this closet!

My craft room/the guest bedroom is also in shambles!

Be sure to check out From the Fitting Room starting today to check out my 30 for 30 closet remix.

My Weekend (ok, Sunday) Creations

Have I mentioned I have a ton of fabric that I need to use up?

Well, last week, I decided I wanted to try to design a purse and put it together so that it was much more sturdy than some of the other shoulder bags I have made before.  Anyway, I have this really great brown/green fabric that is a heavier weight and I thought it would make a super cute purse, so with a little heavy-weight fusible interfacing, an iron, my sewing machine, and literally some sweat, the following was created.  Next time I won't use the stuff I used to hold the brown fabric on the handle, because it made a dark lne down the center.  I don't mind, I made this one for me!  I didn't take a picture of the inside, but it is fully lined and has a pocket.

Also on the agenda for sewing Sunday were the following two items.  The book-type item is actually a great way to get organized for shopping - grocery shopping in particular.  It is a shopping list and coupon organizer (too bad I don't ever use coupons)!  I cannot take the  credit on this one though...I found the idea and "how to" here.  The pocket next to the pen is for a note pad that I didn't have at the time I took the pictures (I have since purchased the note pad for it).  The other item is of course a coffee cup cozie.

Isn't this fabric super cute?

I love all three items and started carrying them around yesterday.  Now I need to get more of the fabric for the cozie and organizer so I can make a coin purse and checkbook cover.  Then I will have a matching set for the inside of my purse!

My-oh-my, I L-O-V-E being creative!!!
I'm thinking a set of these or the purse would be great for the Craft Swap over here.

Happy Tuesday!
