Thursday Pinterests

Looking for lots and lots of different winter and holiday decor.
I like to decorate for the holidays with things that can be used all season.
There are so many ideas out there, it has been hard to choose just a few things.

I love snowmen!

So pretty for decorating the hearth.

These would be cute as fridge magnets.
The kids could design their own snowmen on the fridge.

Super cute pillows... The stuff in the basket is cute too!

The winner of the My Memories Suite is.....

Pinterest is an Addiction

I am so over-whelmed!
Pinterest is absolutely amazing! If you haven't heard of it, you should really check it out.
I have created 27 different "pin" boards.
There are so many ideas, I didn't know where to begin!
So what did I do? I followed my tummy and started with the food.

There are so many amazing recipes that people have posted somewhere on the web and people have pinned them and I have re-pinned some of them.
I started out with a recipe that my own mom made when we were kids.

Saltine Cracker Toffee
Pinned Image
You are probably thinking it sounds kinda yucky, but seriously, this stuff if awesome!
Think sweet and salty... oh and chocolate!

Next came Texas Roadhouse Butter
Pinned Image
Now, I have never been to the Texas Roadhouse restaurant, but from all the reviews and of course the ingredients, how could one possibly go wrong with this stuff?!?
I mixed it all up and put it in jars for Christmas gifts!
Yes, I did taste test it and let me say, it would make french toast so tastey you'd probably want to make it every day!

One-eyed Pirates

My son loves it when I get up and make these for him for breakfast before school.
I have to admit though, they are pretty fun to eat!

And last but definitely NOT least...so far anyway...

Chocolate covered Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Truffles

These things are AWESOME!
I decided to make these for the Christmas celebrations that we will be attending this weekend.
Unfortunately, I don't know that they are going to make it to the weekend.
The best thing about these babies is that they are egg-less.
That's right, no risk of salmanella.
I even found that you can whip up a batch and put it in freezer bags and use it as an ice cream mix in when you get that "hankerin" for cookie dough ice cream!

It is really fun to try out these new recipes!
I have three more planned for our Christmas celebrations, so I will write about those after we get to try them out.

Eventually, I will get to some of the DIY and decorating pin boards.

Happy Pinning!!!

I tried it out... And I liked it!!!

Well, I did try this stuff out. It's not too bad! I'm trying to give up most of my caffeine consumption, and this may be a good substitute and a great way for me to get in my vitamin D and Calcium. It is kinda sweet, so not something I would drink all day. Maybe a good wake-up drink.

No Motivation

I am so un-motivated! This stinking cast has me so bummed. The good thing? I get it off on Wednesday and I am seriously looking forward to it!!! christmas gifts are slowly being bought and wrapped. All of the kids are done, but we have a few more things to pick up for our own kids. The adult's gifts are nearly finished up, just need a few more things. Then the big thing is all of the cleaning so the house is presentable and not a total disaster on Christmas Eve and Day. I m trying very hard to be relaxed, but it is beginning to prove to be difficult. Hopefully without this stinking cast on my leg things will change up a bit.

Thursday Pinterests

Since I've been laid up with my foot in a cast,Ii've been stuck at home and all I think about is FOOD!
A very bad thing, since I cannot workout and have to sit on my rear all day, every day.
I've been wanting to attempt a few recipes that I found on Pinterest...

Here they are!

If you've never had this stuff, you really need to! My husband doesn't like sweets, but he likes this stuff. He says it reminds him of a Heath Bar.

I may be making this stuff for Christmas gifts.

Thursday Pinterests

Today I had to do a new fashion post!
Ever since my husband was asked to be in one of his buddy's wedding in 2012, I have been trying to figure out what I will wear so I will look good next to him in his tuxedo.

I found the perfect outfit!

Now, I will just have to find all of the pieces!

On to some other fashion ideas I am totally in love with!

Thursday Pinterests

Someday, the hubby and I will build our "dream house" on an acreage close to where I grew up.
I have been perusing the web looking for different things that I like and would love to have in our future house. Sure, some of them are kind of rediculous and would probably get a VETO from him, but a girl can dream. Right?

Pinned Image
Isn't this the most unique bookshelf ever?

Pinned Image
Check out this wine cellar. This may be something that WILL NOT get nixed when we build a new home!

Pinned Image
I LOVE this bathroom! Seriously, what's not to love about it?

Pinned Image
These colors are so fresh and clean!

Granted our boxer may not live long enough to get one of these, but we will probably have other dogs with hip problems in the future. This would eliminate the need to jump up onto the bed.

My Memories Suite Review and a Give-Away

I was recently approached to review My Memories Suite, a digital scrapbooking program. Sadly, I had never hear of it until I had been approached. So naturally, I was all about it! I have never done a review of a product before, and I figured this is something I enjoy doing, so I figured it would be completely worth-my-while!

Now, I have heard of other digital software similar to this, but I have never used anything digital for any of my scrapbooking. My Memories Suite appealed to me, because unlike some of the other programs, this one pretty much said "simplicity."

I checked out the My Memories website and there are a large number of design templates a person can purchase to download and use with the software. What I liked about that was, you only purchase and download the design templates that you want. You don't have to become overwhelmed with the amount of stuff you have to look through on software that has already has "everything" on it. It is also nice, because, as far as I can tell, you don't have to worry about buying new software in the next year or so that has "new" stuff. You get to choose the "new" stuff you want and don't have to worry about spending your entire crafting budget on it.

While I was able to review the software, I did a bit of playing around and "scrapbooked" some older digital family photos that we had taken. I must say, even without purchasing newer design templates, there is quite a bit of fun stuff that comes with the software. Most of the scrapbooks I have made are 12x12 and 8 1/2x11. This software offers both sizes as well as the landscape _x__. Unfortunately, I haven't had the chance to print anything off, but I now know what my husband's side of the family will be getting as gifts in the years to come. My Memories Suite will allow me to make family albums without the hastle of cutting and pasting photos into 3 separate albums. I will be able to design each page and then have them printed 3 times.

Honestly, I am uber excited to utilize this software to get family albums made and to get caught up on all of my other albums that I never seem to have time to work on. Oh the life of a full-time wife, mommy, and nurse!

Just to give you an idea of what you can do with the software, here are a few things that I made. Seriously, it is just too much fun! I was even able to make this entire album in only minutes! The best part is that you can also make it into a slideshow if you want to share it via the web. I didn't do that, but I just may do that at a later time.

Okay, now on to the fun stuff... The give-a-way...

One lucky girl (or guy) is going to be able to download this fabulous software for free. That is a $40 value...FOR FREE!!!

Down and Out

I am so disappointed. I was looking forward to do a lot of sewing to make Christmas gifts this year. Unfortunately, I had a silly accident on Thanksgiving that will keep me away from my sewing machine for at least 4 weeks. I was walking down the stairs at home and missed the bottom step. I landed on the main floor and heard and felt a "pop" in my foot. For about 2 hours, I sat with my foot elevated and put ice on it, but I absolutely could not put any weight on it. Finally, I decided it was time to go get it checked out. What better time to do than when we had people over that could stay with our kids while we went to the emergency room. Long story short... They took 3 X-rays and came back and said I had broken a bone in my foot. It was a complete break. Unfortunately, it is my right foot, so sewing is pretty much out for me, as is driving and working. U til I see the orthopedic doctor I have been on crutches and non-weight bearing for my right foot. It will be in the splint from the ER u til I can get in to see the orthopedic doctor (hopefully on Monday or Tuesday). I am rather bummed about the whole situation because I really don't like being helpless. Just taking a shower is a huge ordeal. Don't even get me started on doing my laundry. It took me 10 minutes to get my laundry basket to the washer and put the clothes in the machine. It is going to take some getting used to, but I don't have a choice and neither does my family. I really hate that I have to miss work! That part really stinks!
